Coed Y Brenin, Wales, Sunday 13th July. Set amidst the rugged beauty of the Snowdonia National Park our Welsh Adventure X is sure to be an epic of the genre. Steep climbs, wild terrain and all sorts of off road surfaces from fire roads to blue trail singletrack will make this challenge a genuinely tough day out.
The Massif (Long) Route circumnavigates the Rhinog Mountain Massif and is 100% rideable comprising forest, mountain, coastal and trail centre sections it offers some of the most technical terrain in this year’s Adventure X Series. The shorter Mini Massif Route is still a wild ride with over 60% of the route off road and for the most part it’s less technical terrain than it’s big brother. Although the shorter of the two routes it is one of our favourite rides of the whole series.
Our Adventure X routes have been designed to be 100% rideable on a cyclocross bike (gate opening & closing aside). The on / off road nature of our routes makes a crosser the ideal tool but, equally, a mountain bike can also be used.
The Rhinog Raptor event is one of the more challenging Adventure X rides in the series, plenty of hill climbs and amazing scenery so make sure you select the distance appropriate to your fitness.
